Sharing Thanksgiving with the Community

This Thanksgiving, Kavaliro supported the Darrell Armstrong Foundation for Premature Babies, Inc. in providing Thanksgiving meals (with all the trimmings!) for local underprivileged families. The foundation’s goal was raise enough donations to provide 140 families in the Callahan Neighborhood Center, Pine Hills Neighborhood Center and Frontline Outreach Center communities with Thanksgiving meals. The event to distribute meals took place on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, beginning at the Callahan Neighborhood Center, then proceeded to the Frontline Outreach Center and ended at the Pine Hills Community Center. Approximately 40 meals were distributed at each location, each consisting of a turkey, bread/rolls, vegetables, dessert and a drink.

Lisa Moore, Kavaliro’s Community Relations Director and recently confirmed board member of the Darrell Armstrong Foundation, knew that this was the perfect opportunity for Kavaliro to help families in need this Thanksgiving by their corporate office in Orlando, FL. Friends and businesses alike joined in on the cause and Kavaliro was able to raise $875 towards the effort – enough to provide 25 families with Thanksgiving meals that they might not have had otherwise!
