The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the Regional and State Employment and Unemployment report on December 18, 2015 and things are looking good in the North Bay and Tampa areas! Kavaliro’s Rose Healy and Rafael Restrepo both spoke to reporters from local newspapers to talk about what this means for the local regions.
Rose Healy, director of client relations at Kavaliro, recently spoke with North Bay Business Journal to talk about the report. Although jobless rates in the North Bay Area rose slightly in November, Kavaliro is expecting to see more long-term employment opportunities. Healy has seen a steady demand for contingent workforce in the information and technology industry. She is extremely confident that the economy will continue to rise. She notes that while the joblessness rates are up, it is expected because of the holiday season.
Rafael Restrepo, regional director at Kavaliro, talked with The Tampa Tribune to share information about the report and what the Tampa area has seen in regards to employment. He notes that job placement in the Tampa area has increased by 50 percent in the past year, with many of those jobs in the construction industry. While they start out as temporary jobs, he notes that at least a portion of them eventually result in full-time employment.
