Never a Grinch, Kavaliro Helps Bring Christmas Cheer Through XL 106.7′s ‘Baby DJ’ Program

For the past 10 years, local radio station XL 106.7 and the Johnny and Jayde Morning Show have been helping the children of underprivileged Central Florida families at Christmastime. The station and its listeners have provided thousands of presents for local families that otherwise may not have had anything under the tree on Christmas morning. Local businesses sign up to be an official drop-off stations for the donated toys via the Baby DJ Program, and listeners can donate individually as well.

This year, Kavaliro was designated as an official drop-off location! We were able to collect a big box full of toys and games for local children and Lisa Moore submitted all donations on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

When dropping off all of the goodies, Lisa was able to take a tour of the entire facility and learn about the selection process for families. Each family has to submit a letter requesting help. After being accepted into the program, the families are invited to visit the facility and select two toys and one stocking stuffer per child. To make it easy and organized, the facility has the toys/gifts in separate rooms – one for boys, one for girls, one for babies, one for games, one for sports, one for arts/crafts and so on!

The XL 106.7 crew was very appreciative of the support, and Kavaliro was proud to be a part of this decade-long local tradition of helping to make sure that local children have a special Christmas morning!
