Here’s your go-to to-do list to help keep things smooth throughout decision making process. **Do Your Research** You can’t make the best decision without getting all of your facts straight. Dive into deep into the depths of information the internet has to offer. Investigate your dream company and evaluate how you will fit in at your new workplace. What will your day to day responsibilities look like? Use social media to your advantage as it will help you get to know the company culture and the people who will be on your team. **Double Check the Numbers** Taking on a big move is definitely going to financially rock your boat. Talk to your potential employers to see if they will help cover moving expenses. Also, look into your new salary to see if it will support your current lifestyle in context with the cost of living in your new city. **Talk to Your Family** One of the biggest luxuries of being single is being able to focus on what *you* want. The only people you need to consider are "me, myself and I." If you have a long-term partner or children, however, you need to talk to them and make sure you’re making the best decision for each family member - because you will need their full support if you set out to make it work in a new city. **Make a Visit** In order to truly understand the culture of your potential new city, get out there and experience it! Tourist pamphlets will only tell you so much, so the best way to know if you love a new city is to be there. What do you do in your free time? Are you an amateur foodie? What does the restaurant scene look like in your potential new neighborhood? Figure out how your commute, hobbies and other aspects of your daily life will alter by changing locations. **Weigh the Pros and Cons** Sit down and make a list to compare the different ways the move will affect you, your career path, your personal life, and, most importantly, your happiness. Compile all of your research and consider every detail. Make sure your new job will really make you happier than your current location and position.
