We would like to congratulate John Mahony, Kavaliro’s chief operations officer (COO), on being named a finalist in the Orlando Business Journal's C Level Awards!
With this award, Mahony will be recognized as one of the top COOs in the Central Florida business community.
“I feel so grateful to be a C Level Award recipient,” Mahony said. “Being acknowledged as a leader in the business industry is an incredible honor. I strive to find new ways to motivate my staff at Kavaliro and will continue to challenge them.”
With more than 14 years of experience in the technical services, engineering, telecommunications, information technology, manufacturing and government contracting industries, Mahony partnered with Mark Moore to establish the Orlando and Charlotte offices of Kavaliro.
As COO, Mahony has pushed Kavaliro to become a major player in the nationwide staffing industry. He believes in focusing not only on results, but incentivizing employees to focus on the tasks and duties that are required on the front end that leads to future success.
Mahony is a big believer in mixing it up with positive reinforcement as well as tough love when needed. It is important for him to understand every member of his staff. He knows some thrive on being challenged and continuously want to know where they are falling short. Others react much better to feedback with more of a positive spin.
Mahony not only educates his employees on how to make money, but also to be responsible with that money. He uses conversation to open up the door where they feel comfortable to approach him for an opinion or advice.
Mahony has previously been honored with many awards during his career. These include, the 2010 Charlotte Mover and Shaker, 2010 Orlando Business Journal Top 10 Businessmen to Watch, 2008 Orlando Business Journal 40 Under 40 award winner, Top Performer awards (for 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004), 2006 Governor’s Entrepreneurship Award in the Mega Category, Three President’s Club awards (in 2001, 1999 and 1998), Top Recruiter of the Southeast Division award in 1999 and Top Salesperson of the Southeast Division award in 1999.
