On October 17, Kavaliro spent the day participating in the International Dragon Boat Festival! This event is an international showcase of paddlers searching for the opportunity to work on team-building ethics while having fun. The event in Orlando, Fla. was attended by more than 80 teams.
The Orlando Kavaliro Team headed to Turkey Lake in Bill Frederick Park where the teams geared up to race against other corporations and group in hopes to win the industry cup. The team was also able to experience international flavors offered at The Daily City’s Food Truck Bazaar. After enjoying the delicious food, the team was able to experience the Asia Trend Cultural Expo where they viewed displays and performances highlighting the diverse and fascinating cultures found throughout Asia.
“This event allowed our team to work together in a new and exciting way,” said John Mahony, President. “It is important to us that we are consistently going to, and hosting events, that support a strong team-building ethic.”
The International Dragon Boat Festival delivered an unforgettable day of competition, including a 2k pursuit for top mixed crews and 100m racing for top women and open crews. The Orlando Kavaliro Team and Team Loyal Source did an awesome job rowing to the finish line in multiple heats! Everyone did a great job, and every member of Team Kavaliro left as a winner.
