Another Great Year for Kavaliro’s Kick Off For Kids! Orlando tech staffing

Last week, about 180 people came out to support Orlando tech staffing firm's, Kavaliro, 3rd Annual Kick Off For Kids event at Rock & Brews! All proceeds from the event go to Central Florida Public Schools food pantries and its Backpack Programs. The event raised a total of $32,607 and 800 pounds of food to be donated to local elementary school children.

The Kick Off For Kids event is a continuation of Kavaliro’s longstanding commitment to helping the underprivileged in Central Florida. Sparked by the 60 Minutes documentary on the homeless situation in Central Florida, a piece that made 60 Minutes history, Kavaliro makes a commitment to help feed the hungry within the community. Kavaliro partnered with Central Florida Public Schools in support of its Backpack Program, and through the last few food drives collected more than 27,000 pounds of food donated. Kick Off For Kids has obtained a 501(c) (3) certification, declaring it an official tax-exempt nonprofit organization in the United States.

“We are extremely thankful for the outpouring of support from the local community,” said Lisa Moore, CEO of Kick Off For Kids. “It’s great to have so many compassionate sponsors and donors who helped make this year’s event a success!”

In conjunction with the NFL season kickoff, local companies and organizations came together to give back to students and families facing financial difficulties in the Central Florida area. With the IT staffing firm's generous contribution of covering all overhead costs, 100 percent of the money raised goes back to the kids. Funds are allocated quarterly and Kick Off For Kids delivers food during the months of August, November, February and May. This ensures families are cared for throughout the year.

With funds raised through raffle tickets, sponsor tables and more, backpacks will be filled every Friday with nutritious food to be send home with students. This provides 10 to 15 families with two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners for the weekend. The empty backpacks are then returned the following Monday to be refilled for other families. The families that are provided with backpacks change every week.

Throughout the night, there were raffles where winners received donated prizes from sponsors. The prizes included trips to Disney World, a full year of Panera lunch and even a cruise. There was also a football square game that attendees were able to partake in. All proceeds from the event went towards purchasing food items to support the Backpack Programs organized by local schools.

“It is Kavaliro’s goal to ensure that as we grow and succeed as a company, so we give back to the community with as much effort and enthusiasm as we do when we provide services to our valued clients,” said Bill Peppler, Kavaliro’s Managing Partner. “We love our community and we are proud to give back to a city that has given us so much.”
